To generously share God's love with everyone we meet

Worship

Each week we gather in worship to glorify God.  Worship is at the heart of who we are as a church.  Through worship we come together as God's people to celebrate and praise God.  We sing praises to God and pray for people and situations here and around the world.  We receive support and encouragement for the week ahead.  From worship we go out and share God's love with everyone we meet.

We invite you to join us for worship services on Sundays at 8:30 a.m. and stay for coffee fellowship following the service.

Easter is not canceled!Worship services, we’re not so sure about.

Are you as tired as I am of the phrases “in this time of uncertainty” or “social distancing” or maybe your own personal favorite phrase  ______________(you fill in the blank). Yet, this has become a part of our lives. These phrases that weren’t even in existence a few weeks ago will never leave our memories. This is an unusual time we are living in.

There are some constants though. Life moves forward. Our lives move forward with the promise of Easter, with the promise of Hope, with the promise of a better tomorrow.

Malachi is not a book we read often. Yet, today I opened my Bible, and there it was, Malachi 1. In the Message version the first words are: “God said, “I love you.” And the people reply, “Really? How have you loved us?” God says, “take a look at history, … then you will see how faithfully I’ve loved you and you will want even more.” (v.2-5)

Hebrew worship at the time was all about sacrifice, and people had started giving God the leftovers instead of their best. God tells them that by doing so, they are defiling worship, their hearts are not in it anymore. God says, “Maybe this will wake you up … I’m indicting you in order to put new life into my covenant (with you). …”

There you have it, the reason for Easter. God has always wanted us to have new lives filled with love, hope, and promise. And sometimes that life needs to be shaken up a bit.
Well, God, you have got our attention.

Meaningful worship starts with Prayer. If we celebrate Easter with a Drive-In-Worship this year, or if we celebrate online worship, or Celebrate in our homes, Easter is coming. Nothing will change the first words of the book of Malachi, “God says, “I love you.”

Let’s give God our best, let’s love God with our heart, and soul and mind and strength.

Thank you for your service,

Pastor Paul
